It is a singular project, still in realisation process, many of whose performances are already a reality. It is developed on the river Guadalope, authentic axis of the Maestrazgo´s Cultural Park, and its tributaries. The fluvial Park includes the High and Middle basins of the Guadalope, from its birth until the Calanda´s Reservoir and the basins of its tributaries, Val de Jarque, Bordón, Pitarque, Guadalopillo and Bergantes.

The project of the Guadaope´s Fluvial Park has two fundamental objectives: on one hand, the improvement of the rivers and the quality of their inhabitants' life and on the other hand propitiating the use and tourist enjoyment of the same ones.

 

There have been done a group of actions, as the recovery of the poplars, cleaning of dead trees, increase of the vegetable diversity, improvements in the purifiers..., at the same time that the installation of small recreational areas with their corresponding signalling.

The whole process has gone accompanied by previous studies: hydro- geologic studies, flora and fauna studies, cultural patrimony...

At the present time, The Guadalope´s Fluvial Park is working in the realisation of the welcome centres in each one of their tracts.

 
 
 

The actions of the Park, affect to 21 municipalities distributed in three consortiums:
Consortium of the High Guadalope:
Villarroya de los Pinares, Miravete de la Sierra, Aliaga, Fortanete, Pitarque, Villarluengo, Mezquita de Jarque, Cuevas de Almudén, Jarque de la Val and Hinojosa de Jarque.
Consortium of the Middle Guadalope:
Castellote, Seno, Mas delas Matas, Bordón, La Ginebrosa and Aguaviva.
Consortium of the Guadalopillo:
Ejulve, Molinos, Berge, Alcorisa and Foz-Calanda (this last one outside of the Maestrazgo´s Cultural Park)

CONTENTS:
The river Guadalope and its tributaries gather stretches in excellent conservation state, only in Europe, lodging singular species and conforming landscapes of forced reference: "Hoces del Guadalope", "Organos de Montoro", "Nacimiento del Pitarque" ...
The flora presents singular species, in the mark of an unbeatable riverside forest formed by poplars, ash-trees, sallows, "sargueras" ... among the most common.
It is a paradise for the birds: "piquituertos", kingfishers, aquatic grackles, wood-pecker, scops owl... but there can also be contemplated birds of more size like the chough, the "avion roquero", in the distance, and vultures and real eagles, in the rocks or the.
There also are the autochthonous trouts and the singular otter.
