The Mas de las Matas museum is an initiative of "El Grupo de Estudios Masinos" which takes carge of the Centre's management .

At the present time, The museum is located in a space given by "La Comunidad de Regantes" of Mas de las Matas. Near the Museum, we can also the floury mill, a building of three floors, in good conservation state that completes the visit to the museum.

CONTENTS:

The museum's contents can be grouped in three main areas:

Archaeology section, where the archaeological discoveries of the area are reviewed, with interesting Iberian, Roman, Visigothic, Muslims and later material.

Section of contemporary art, with an important pictorial collection.

Palaeontology section, where a collection of original fossils is exposed with the corresponding material support, for its interpretation.

There also are important ethnologic funds, restoration workshop, library, documentation centre and temporary exhibitions hall.

At the present time, The Group (GEMA) is working in the adaptation of new spaces to lodge the museum collections, also including new explanatory designs.

There also are pamphlets and publications that support the visit to the museum.
